Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how CalCalGo collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the CalCalGo mobile application and related services.
1. Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address and authentication identifiers.
- Profile and plan information you choose to provide, such as weight, goals, activity level, and nutrition preferences.
- Food and nutrition data, including meal logs, calories, macronutrients, favourites, and related history.
- Images and descriptions you submit when using photo-based or text-based food estimation features.
- Health and activity information if you choose to grant access to supported device health or activity services.
- Technical and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
2. Google sign-in data
If you choose “Continue with Google,” CalCalGo uses Google OAuth for authentication. We request only basic identity information needed to sign you in, such as your Google account email address and basic profile information available through the sign-in flow.
CalCalGo does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Contacts, or Google Calendar through Google sign-in.
3. How we use information
- create and authenticate your account;
- provide meal logging, nutrition estimates, progress tracking, hydration, weight, and related app features;
- sync data across supported sessions and devices;
- operate subscriptions and plan entitlements where applicable;
- protect the service from abuse and security threats;
- diagnose errors and improve reliability.
4. AI-assisted features
When you use AI-assisted food estimation, the text or image information you submit may be sent to service providers that process the request in order to return a nutrition estimate.
5. Service providers
CalCalGo relies on third-party providers for functions such as authentication, database hosting, transactional email delivery, AI processing, app distribution, and subscription processing. These providers may process information on our behalf as needed to provide their services.
6. Data storage and security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Where supported, you may request deletion of your account and associated data.
8. Your choices
You can choose whether to use Google sign-in, whether to submit photos or descriptions for AI-assisted estimation, and whether to grant optional device permissions.
9. Children
CalCalGo is not intended for children below the minimum age required to use the service in their jurisdiction unless appropriate consent is provided where legally permitted.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page.
